ya mon!

Did I mention turning 40 wasn't so awful?
Jamaica was beautiful and hot.
The water was warm and my hubby was so sweet.

The kids enjoyed themselves...

A bittersweet trip all the same.
I'll go into that another time.

For now, I still enjoy the inspiration board Birthday Girl designed for me.

My 3 year old son can't stop saying "Ya Mon!"

Warm wishes to you all as this Noreaster hits Long Island!!!!

Spring House View

I bought this a few months back from Art.com. It's called "Spring House View" by Daniel Pollera. Now, I got married at the Spring House Hotel on Block Island, Rhode Island..., and this painting looks just like the view from there!!!

Missing Block Island but going for a visit real soon! Just can't wait... haven't been there since my first anniversary back in 2002.

This is to get me in the mood!
Have a great Monday everyone.

About the Artwork

Daniel Pollera’s serene artwork magically transports viewers to secluded beaches and peaceful seaside bungalows. Born and educated in Long Island, Pollera continues to live there in one of its coastal towns, where he draws inspiration from his tranquil surroundings. Rendered in acrylics, his photographic quality portraits of peaceful seascapes express a strong mood—often a longing for a simpler life. Self-taught, Pollera has worked with Everett Molina, the head of the National Mural Society. His art has been featured in Boating World Magazine, newsday, the New York Times, in a department store, and on a book cover.

I need a vacation...

(source)

Greece, perhaps?

How lovely is this lady, chillin' in what looks like the Greek Isles? Could be California..., I don't really know...

I would take a trip to anywhere that looked like this, right about now.

the art to packing light - by anthropologie

How cool is this bag? I must have it... This is how they describe it:

Morning's Call Tote
A wide-eyed rooster wakes up a utilitarian canvas tote with batik-inspired feathers and flora, and a carved, beaded bauble.

They call this last outfit "sea cove".
Anthropologie claims everything here is "packable..."

Honeymoon anyone?
Destination Wedding, perhaps?

Isn't it all too lovely?

AND, if you are looking for some really different Bridesmaids Dresses... check these out:

"Biarritz"

weddings unveiled

Doesn't this look absolutely fabulous? Like it should be in a magazine! Wait, it was in a magazine!

Like a party I wish I was invited to! You can tell it had some PERSONALITY to it! That's what every wedding needs. Your own stamp on it. Nice job Paola and Jeremy.

Kind of a "Rustic Elegance", don't you think?

via Weddings Unveiled Magazine

"Real Wedding ~ Paola and Jeremy

Though we usually post real weddings on Wednesdays, we thought we'd start a bit early this week. Since today is Cinco de Mayo, we'd love to share the gorgeous wedding of Paola and Jeremy in Mexico City, Mexico, sent to us by amazing photographer, KT Merry. Needless to say, the trays of sangria and Coronitas with limes have us longing for a getaway, or at the very least, a nice little afternoon cocktail. In addition to culturally-inspired food & beverages, this wedding embraced Mexico's rodeo tradition, featuring bull riding (mechanical of course!) during the reception. We also love KT's images of the saddles, the horses and the bride and groom in the stables. Don't miss the brightly colored pashmina favors! Happy Cinco de Mayo!

The Perfect Palette

I recently asked The Perfect Palette to do an Inspiration Board for My Island Wedding. Nantucket inspired, not Caribbean... Casual Elegant..., colors up to them.

This is what they came up with.

I just can't believe it. I need to be this bride and have her wedding. Well, I had the best wedding/day of my life in 2001 on Block Island, Rhode Island. It looks much like this with Lighthouses, seafood, beaches, and of course The Lovely Bride!!!!

(I am having trouble "squeezing the board" to fit this post..., check it out for yourselves...)

The Perfect Palette does requests for future brides and grooms too so check them out!

Let me know what you think... leave a comment:

1.. "Casual Elegance?"
2.. or "Formal All The Way?"

A friend of mine went to Fiji and told me it was the most amazing place she had ever seen. I'd rather be here than dealing with computer issues...

Wish me luck.

Key West Wedding

As part of my "Beach Envy" recently... I give you the Ultimate Beach Wedding Inspiration Board!!! These colors are amazing. (We had a VW Bus when I was a kid, but it was white...)

And, is it me or is that a "Seer Sucker" blazer? I have no idea how to spell it, but enjoy saying "seersucker!!!"

I LOVE the "Retro" Feel of this. Snippet and Ink... You did it again!

Beach Wedding Photography

And Then He Kissed Me..

I am having such a thing recently for Beach Weddings..., Engagement Photos on the Sand..., just the beach in general!!!

Don't forget about this offer (deadline 3/31) from The Destination Wedding Photographer Sherrlyn Borkgren... Check out her blog Love Simply Happens. It's stunning.

And don't forget the sunscreen people!!!

OK, I'm not at the beach today, but at a "Jack and Jill" Shower.

Anyone heard of this? Anyone doing this?

My Step Brother In Law is marrying someone from out of state. Totally called for in this instance. Poor bride doesn't know ANYONE on Long Island. People still want to throw them a party, so you know what? Accept some gifts have some food and drink and we will see you at the wedding.

If I listen to any more music..., I'm just going to melt into the crying hall of fame. Enjoy all.

"And then he kissed me..."
