My wife and I got married on Ocrakoke 9/19/09. It was truly the best road trip, party, adventure I've ever had. We stayed about nine days and while I don't recal the wahab house, id like to share some thoughts. For photography, I recomend Mary Haggarty of Ocracoke Photo. Im the guy talkin here so she must be good! All we did was show up. She took us to the best spots on the island and her eye for extrodinary shots is unrivaled. While it lasted 4 hours, the time with Mary was fun and it really didn't seem like FOUR HOURS!! One ofthe best places to eat is the The flying melon cafe', go for breakfast. Howards Pub is OK, but it seems like a Joe's Crab Shack. Dajio's is probably the best. We had our after wedding dinner there. If you want the best the Island has to offer and believe me , you'll pay for it, go to the back porch. Its pretty high class. However, I wore my hawaiian shirt in there. You must take the trip to Portsmouth Island. Do not go to the village , just chill at the beach. You'll find the best shells. A place to chill for sunset is the jolly roger. Its right on the water. Just get the fried fish sandwich of the day and drink beer. There are signs there that say don't feed the ducks but we did anyway. They were quite charming. Anyway, good luck and you can't go wrong with Mary Haggarty and the restaurants I mentioned. If I think of anything else, I'll post. Ok one more thing. Mary got us Special access to Springers Point. It is a hike, but probably the best place on the island to get married. The views make for good stuff. It is where Blackbeard met his demise.
